Spring Cleaning Continues

First off, I love that my husband has been willing to help me with the spring cleaning. You rock!

The living room is done and we’re just about done with the kitchen. I was home sick today so I went ahead and reorganized our cupboard pantry, and all that is left is the closet pantry. We also have to mop the floors.

Some photo evidence! Click on the picture for a larger size. Some of them have notes.

We have to keep most stuff off the bottom shelves of our bookcases, otherwise they tend to end up on the floor. We moved the DVDs to a hall closet (we hardly ever watch them) and some of the books are now in the “to sell” pile. We actually don’t eat at this table most of the time, so I hope we can keep it from becoming the catchall again.

I didn’t think the kitchen was so bad to clean. I’m not sure why, but I kind of had fun with it. It could be due to my hatred of a dirty kitchen to begin with, so seeing all the bare, clean countertops was wonderful. I also love organization, so doing the cupboards was easy and quick. It’s great to see how much space you actually have when things are organized.

I need to come up with some art for over the fireplace. Something really big. I love the circle art that Simple Mom has, but I don’t know if I want something so uniform. I’ve been thinking of getting some old wooden frames from a thrift store and arranging them. I never had a fireplace before moving to this house, so I’m at a loss! Many people put in mirrors, but apparently that goes against feng shui. What do you think?

Your bookshelves look awesome! You did well reorganizing your cupboards considering you were sick, everything looks great.

Man, I would KILL for a day to do that. Maybe I should try to build an army of cleaning robots? Nope, my kids would probably spill liquid and short their circuits. Sigh… maybe when they’re in college?
