One of my coworkers is a Tea Person. This is lucky for me, because a few months ago when I realized I was out of red raspberry tea and was in a dire situation about it, she came to my rescue with Buddha’s Bliss, a chamomile-based tea blended with lemongrass, lavender, and other yummy stuff.

I was a little worried that the chamomile would cause me to fall asleep, but instead the tea just makes me feel great. After a couple more times of “borrowing” from my friend’s tin, I finally picked some up to have for my own.

Buddha's Bliss Tea

Buddha’s Bliss is just one of the teas created by Ginger Webb of Texas Medicinals. She uses all organic herbs to make the teas, and the loose-leaf cans let you see exactly what you’re getting, instead of that dust inside the typical grocery-store teas. OK, true, you have an extra step in that you need to measure out the tea into an infuser, but come on! It’s a small price to pay for a good cup of tea.

I like to drink the tea in the afternoon when my brought-from-home coffee is gone and I am attempting to not snack (I’m a bored eater). It might be odd to drink hot tea when it’s 100 degrees, but it’s so cold in my office that I’m constantly looking for ways to keep warm without having to wear odd clothing. I’m pretty sure this tea would be yummy iced, too.

One tin of tea costs $10 for 2 ounces, and a few of the varieties are available in other sizes on the website. Two ounces is actually quite a lot of tea, and you should get many cups out of a single tin!

My other favorite thing about this tea is that it’s made right here in Austin. Webb tries to use as many local ingredients as possible, so you’re drinking in Texas in this tea. She also makes many different products just for mamas, so if you’re expecting or know someone who is, consider checking out what she has to offer.

One Response to Stuff I Love: August 6

  1. I’m a tea fanatic as well. I shiver all summer long in my office and several cups of tea keeps me sane. The lemongrass sounds interesting!
