A Better Pizza with Hodgson Mill {Giveaway}

It’s no secret that around here we like pizza. It’s a go-to meal in our house, especially because it can be so versatile! In the years I’ve been blogging, I’ve written about pizza (and pizza derivatives…) more than a few times:

So it was more than fitting when Hodgson Mill contacted me about entering their Build a Better Pizza Contest. It’s all about taking standard pizza and putting a healthier spin on it, from the toppings all the way down to the crust. I’m creating a special pizza just for the contest, and I hope you will vote for my entry when the time comes.

  1. I made a fun apple, fig spread and goat cheese pizza last year that was delicious. Also love to make interesting pies with beans, avocado, and salsa!

  2. I’m not super adventurous with pizza, but last weekend I made an amazing butternut squash, potato, and pancetta pizza. It was so, so good, and tasted like fall.

  3. I put on a really odd tasting cheese that I can’t even remember the name of. It is white and crumbly and often used on salads but I wanted to try it. The verdict was to leave it off next time!


  4. I love to eat pepperoni and pineapple pizza, which is a little different. But, I also lovepizza with thin, crispy potatoes on it!

  5. I must admit that a healthier pizza is something that I need to learn ASAP. We are currently trying a low-to-non-fat regime thanks to my wife having her gallbladder removed. Maybe making something yogurt based and lean sausage made with elk or goat.

  6. I love fig and goat cheese pizza, not that that’s too crazy. And I also love arugula on a pizza with meat (sausage, pancetta, etc)

  7. A drizzle of olive oil, fresh garlic, smidgen of mozzarella, goat cheese, caramelized onions, fresh rosemary, homemade sweet potato chips (I’ve also used the purple variety), kale and some freshly shaved parmesan cheese.
