This post is part of my ongoing partnership with Netflix as a member of their StreamTeam.
With our lives completely revolving around getting ready to move (there is so much to do), having moments to just sit down and not think about where we need to put a chair for staging or how clean we can manage to keep the place with pets and kids are crazy important.
Crazy is the key word there, because we’re getting pretty close to losing our minds here, and summer break is only just starting. Yikes.
Fortunately with our Roku TV we don’t have to worry about packing away our entertainment until we’re really, really moving, and double fortunately that everyone has a favorite something to watch.
Yes, I throw my kids outside and make them do creative things, but let’s be realistic here. If my husband and I are busy scrubbing baseboards, we can’t spend every five seconds stopping to break up the squabbles.
My older son is obsessed with superhero stuff, of course, and there are a ton of options to scratch that itch on Netflix. Right now he’s watching Young Justice. Even though he has never read the Justice League comic books these characters come from, he loves to tell us all the storylines and the descriptions of each character.
My younger son tends to request the same things over and over again. (Kung Fu Panda shorts, anyone?) Happily, he’s re-discovered Little Einsteins and Super Why!, so I can at least pretend he’s learning while watching.
For my part, I’m thrilled that Grace & Frankie is back. I adore Lily Tomlin and she is perfect in this role. It’s also fun seeing
President Bartlet Martin Sheen on the screen again.
I haven’t started watching Lady Dynamite yet, featuring Maria Bamford in an adaptation of her life, but I have been hearing great things. Sometimes you just need a big laugh at the end of the day. Especially when you’ve spent that day mulching and cleaning.
What are you watching this summer?
