creamy peppermint  ice cream

For a cool and creamy treat this season, make a batch of peppermint ice cream! This easy ice cream is egg free, too.

01 Heavy cream

02 Milk

03 Granulated sugar

04 Vanilla & peppermint extracts

06 Crushed candy canes

Combine cream, sugar, and salt in a saucepan and heat over medium. Whisk to dissolve sugar and salt.

Transfer to a bowl and pour in milk, vanilla, and peppermint extracts.

Add 2 tablespoons crushed candy canes and whisk well. Cover and chill at least 2 hours.

When ready to churn, remove from fridge and whisk again to re-mix.

Pour into ice cream maker and churn according to machine directions.

When the ice cream is almost completely churned, add the rest of the crushed candy canes.

Transfer to a freezable container and freeze until solid. It will remain slightly soft for scooping.
