Got strawberries on the brain? Check out my collection of the best strawberry recipes!
I am obsessed with strawberries right now. In fact, I need to hurry up and replace our stash because I kinda ate them all! There are worse things, of course. Like being caught by your children for eating all the strawberries. Toddler wrath knows no bounds, you guys.
Have you been craving strawberries like me? Well, you’re in luck, because I’ve gathered up a few of the best strawberry recipes for you to make right now. Seriously.
These recipes range from breakfast to dessert and all the meals in between. If you want to keep healthy, you’re covered — if not, I’ve got your back too!
Choosing strawberries
Most of these recipes call for fresh strawberries, so be sure to buy firm, vibrantly red berries. Check the container for any signs of smashed or molding berries before you purchase.
When you get them home, sort through them to be sure there are no duds in the bunch. If you like, you can transfer the fruit into another container. Make sure it has vents to allow some air flow, similar to how they are stored at the grocery. Remember, only wash them right before eating to prevent spoilage!
Using frozen strawberries
While fresh strawberries work best for many of these recipes, frozen fruit can work when strawberries are out of season.
Make sure to thaw the strawberries before using, or the excess water can set you up for failure in the recipe. Pat dry with a paper towel after thawing and draining.
Thawed fruit will work best in recipes where the strawberries are mashed or pureed, as in jams or dressings. You can also try them in baked goods, but for salads or pies I recommend fresh!
You only need a few berries to make many of the best strawberry recipes, so why not try them all?
