Patio Picks - Flat Pack Bench

This past weekend, in between threats of rain, we took our new patio items for a spin. The weather could not have been better and we enjoyed a lovely grilled meal under our new umbrella, cozy with our new pillows.

There are still a few things to be done before I can share the big reveal (hi, dead plants and fallen leaves) but I wanted to give you a quick peek at some of the items I purchased.

As I mentioned in my post about shopping for home decor, I wanted to work with our existing items to build a family-friendly entertaining space. We have a lot of trees, but I wanted to bring some of that lushness down with color and plant accents. I also wanted to have a dining space as well as more of a nook area for morning coffee, and keep to the budget. Just a few of my finds are below:

Check out my patio picks for summer entertaining thanks to At Home.

1. 10-foot offset umbrella 2. black baker’s shelf 3. spanish tile melamine plate 4. dark brown wicker barrel chair
5. ceramic square double planter 6. keyes banana pillow

Happily, it was easy to keep to my budget while shopping at At Home. Because I had used their website and the HGTV Spring House for inspiration and research, I had a good idea of what I wanted. I admit I was a little surprised that I veered away from a brighter color scheme — I was originally drawn to the aqua that is a featured color this season — but I knew that overall a more classic look is what I was after.

Keeping classic allows me to easily swap items for seasons and holidays, and I know I won’t tire of the design easily either. Plus, I know that when we move to our new house, these items will work equally well in the new patio space.

Have you picked up any new decor this spring? Share your favorite picks in the comments!
